Amazon suspends deliveries and Prime Video in Russia

If you are looking to order something from Amazon, or binge-watch a new web series or thriller movie on Prime Video over the weekend, wait, first check your location. If your location is Russia, then it might hurt your plans. Yes, because the retail giant Amazon has suspended shipment of all retail products to people in Russia and Belarus and will not offer customers access to its Prime Video in Russia.

Additionally, Amazon will no longer be accepting new Russia and Belarus-based AWS (Amazon Web Services) clients and Amazon third-party sellers.

However, it is surprising that, unlike other US tech companies, Amazon and AWS have no data centers, infrastructure, or offices in Russia. They have a long-standing policy of not doing business with the Russian government.

Several tech players, including Apple, Microsoft, Samsung, Netflix, and PayPal, have already stopped their operations in Russia. Besides, Visa and Mastercard have also shut down their business in the country.
